Default Coolant Blowing Out Of The Overflow

I have had this problem for a little bit now and I cant think of the solution. It only happens at wot and it doesnt happen all of the time but when I get on it coolant flys out of the overflow all over that side of the engine bay. I have gone through 3 radiator caps and they seem to fix the problem for a little then they start losing pressure. Could it be coolant in a cylinder even though I am not blowing white smoke and my oil is clean? Or could it be something else?

Will it do it if you rev up to red line in neutral?

Never tried it but it didn't do it when it was on the dyno. It seems like it must be on load.

Clogged overflow line? Sticking T-stat? Have you removed the overflow bottle and flushed the **** out of it yet, making sure the line isn't clogged up?

I have seen bad head gaskets cause this. when you floor it the head might be lifting up and pushing exhaust into the coolant forcing it out of the overflow. Seen it a bunch of times on boosted hondas.

hhow about when you shut the car off? does coolant come out of the over flow cap?

iirc..i had this problem when the car was turned off and the 2 hoses that go th the fittings on the radiator right below the radiator cap were on backwards...the overflow line goes to the upper fitting, the lower fitting goes to the engine steam pipe.

I dont think it does. I read on a search that same thing and I looked at it my hoses were right.

I am gonna try to replace the t-stat and go from there

He said it's not blowing white smoke; no contaminated oil....

I don't know if the 98 WS6's came with a power steering cooler. If so, check your PS reservoir. If it's full of muck, there's part of your problem.

Do the cheap stuff first:
-Pressure test. (free at some places)
-Clean the outside of the radiator.
-Get a $5 colant tester and test the coolant.
-Make sure your fans are kicking on.

Once you do these things, the problem should be obvious.

The system has pressure. Thats the first thing I did, but the caps keep blowing out after a while and losing pressure. Ill get a tester but there is no oil in it unless that tests for gas as well and what would the fans not kicking on have to do with it shooting out?

Regardless, you have too much pressure. Either from an external source or overheating. A static pressure test rules out a bad head gasket. What is happening on your temp gauge while all this is going on?

A coolant tester will confirm the proper coolant/water mix.

Well when im just drivig around before it blows out the gauge is steady at 160 but when it loses coolant it will go past 210 if I let it because the coolant is low.

No. The head would set back down and be fine under normal driving. I guess that might be a worst case scenario for you.

Do you have a stock thermostat or are you running a colder one? I recall that the stock run at 185. If you are on a stock, maybe yours is stuck open?
