Certain states they can't pursue you on the highway for speeding like over 100 or something, check your state. But if they're already on your *** or even in your direction don't bother, seriously. Highway and they're sitting MIGHT be a different story.

i know this isnt really the right place, but i didnt see anywhere for a "general" question.....ok anyways....if im speeding, and the cop gets on my *** then hits the lights, if i were to take off and get away, can they still issue me a ticket of some kind because they have my plate info? i always thought that if they didnt know who was driving then they cant issue one
as to exactly what they can do, that changes from state to state. I can only speak for South Carolina in that regard.
here.. no. unless the officer catches you, or you admit guilt, you're off... but expect to get pulled for something really stupid next time they see you.
in other states, the owner of the car is responsible for it at all times, and will be charged....
that said.. you're ******* stupid to run in a camaro.

The OP is right. I've seen this done many many times.
It usually starts off innocently while you are on a calm drive - THEN the sheriff's deputies jump in behind you from their hiding place with the lights going crazy.
The key is to find a long winding dirt road going through groves of trees. (The kind where your back end fishtails out when you go around the curve.) Then, you find a washed out bridge on someones farm that goes over a small creek. If you gun it and get up enough speed, you'll launch right over the creek and land on all 4 wheels. (It works like a charm. There's NEVER any damage to the vehicle you are in.) From that point, all you have to do is watch your rear view as Smokey misses the bridge jump and end upside down in the creek.
The best part is that there is never any consequences for all of this. If you can get the Sheriff upside down in the creek, they just swear at you a lot but show up to your house the next day to hit on your hot cousin and never even mention the day before.

While it's MUCH like that, I believe he was picturing a '69 Charger with a bright orange paintjob... The "hot cousin" gave it away... heh
When I saw the pic you added, I thought "HOOPER" and then it hit me, it's gotta be Bandit(Smokey &).... The givaway this time, that 10gal hat!You can still be ticketed, but it may not stand up in court.

There is some guy on a stupid loud motorcycle that clowns the police near my street (edge of town). We will hear him rapping out the gears and about 20 seconds later 5 deputies come flying by. No chance in hell they are catching him. Never met the guy though.

Just the good ol' boys,
Never meanin' no harm,
Beats all you've never saw, been in trouble with the law
since the day they was born.
Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the mountain might get 'em,
but the law never will.
Makin' their way, The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.
Just the good ol' boys,
Wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.
