Condensation in reverse lights and turn signal

I'm going to try and rig something up to fix that slit rather than shelling out for a new houseing. This weekend I just got some sand paper and with some small tweasers, tore a piece off and managed to sand most of the connectors down. Put the light back in and now works just fine. So did the other side to and it's up and running. I'm guessing I'll just have to sand them at least once to twice a year with all the rain and all we get. Until I can figure out a way to rig it where water won't get into the assembly.

I was going to use a little clear RTV to fill mine if I hadn't change them.
