How much gas is actually left in the tank when the check gauges light comes on?

Do 98's have a low fuel light? ive gotten pretty low and never seen it if its there lol

They all should have a low fuel light. Well actually, it will light up in red on my car and say, "Check gauges" But I know it's referring me to the fuel gauge.

I've regularly had the needle buried well left of "E" and have never run out. In fact the most gas I've ever put in was 15.0 gal, and that was after driving at least 50 miles with the light on. My guess is that the light comes on with about 3.5 gal left.

Well said! Although F bodies in particular are a nightmare to change fuel pumps unless your a hillbilly with a hacksaw.
