Default Water pump help

Water pump is bad on my 98 Z. Friend of mine is Store Mgr of local repair shop and quoted me at 650.00......that just seems really high. Advanced Auto Parts says its like 150.00 for replacement. Doesnt seem like would be to difficult to change. Anyone have any references to a tutorial on changing out. Any and all help is appreciated.

Here is an article on how to install an electric water pump.

You only need to look at the removal section and reverse it for install.

I'm going to save you money... Ready?

Go on Advanced's website, check out online and select "store pickup". Enter coupon code VISA and save yourself 50 bucks, and STILL have a lifetime warranty.

And yes, it's very easy to change. It's only 6 bolts...

Sorry, your friend is a dirtbag.........

You can buy these things for under $100.00.00

www.rockauto.com has factory AC Delco water pumps for $183.00 and a couple others that are just fine for under $100.00

WOW! Some Friend you have!!!

You can do it yourself for about $100.
Pump comes with a gasket and you need a bottle of coolant.

I took off the lid to make things easier, Took off the belt and pulley to access the pump.
Drained old coolant from the radiator's petcock.
Scrub off the paper gasket off the motor, apply new gasket with some black rtv,
install new pump and rest is reverse process.
Fill radiator with fresh coolant (hope you plugged the petcock back on bottom of radiator before this step. )
Make sure there are no bubbles.
Let the car sit for 4 to 5 hours for proper sealing.

The only thing to be careful about lt1s is opti getting wet. For a pro it doesn't matter as much. ..good to see you back here myk.
