Default Help fixing backup lights

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the 2001 Camaro SS that I recently purchased has the backup lights wired to a toggle switch just above the clutch pedal. The reasons for this can be debated, but that is beside the point now. The lights are wired such that they ONLY work with the toggle switch and not when the car is actually put into reverse.

This leaves me with 2 steps:

Step 1 - Remove the altered wiring
Being quite familiar with the 4th gen Camaros from my previous '95 Camaro I had a pretty good idea where to look for everything. This is what I found...
Power source pulled directly from the backup light fuse.

Then routed to the toggle switch.

Then along the driver's side back to the tail light.

Closer look...

So, I managed to remove everything and get it all bundled up tonight.

Which leaves me with step 2...

Step 2 - Fix wiring to the OEM reverse switch:

????

I'm not really sure where to start looking for this one. The switch itself may be bad, but I don't know for sure. Where should I start looking? Please be specific.

The reverse switch is on the side of the transmission.

Driver's side or passenger's side? Any pictures of what it looks like since I'm not really sure what I am looking for?

On a manual, its the only sensor on the passenger side of the tranny. On an auto, it's on the shifter.

I picked up a new back up switch at Napa (ECH NS6574), popped it in, and voila! It's a pretty tough spot to turn a wrench, but it was about as easy a fix as it could be. It didn't lose a drop of tranny fluid either, which I was a bit concerned about.

Thanks to those who offered the tips!
