Ok guys here's an update

1) I popped my hood, check the ac/cruise 15a fuse, not blown
2) proceeded to under the steering colum/dash, its held inplace by 4 screws, i unscrewed them som bitches, unhooked the hatch button/switch, and found the brake light switch

It has 2 set of plugs attached to it, and they are a pain in the *** to come off, i have weak fingers so i had to use a set of pliers to unhook them.

Then the brake switch unscrews

I put in a brand new one, made sure my brake lights were functioning properly

and then the bad part,

CRUISE STILL NOT WORKING

idk whatelse to check now.. anyone care to chime in?

fuse - check
original brake light switch secure - check
new brake light switch replaced - check

3rd brake light works, it just wont set a speed any ideas??

It's possible, if all other options are exhausted.

IIRC, you have to remove the steering wheel to even get to the turn signal lever, and yes, that's a bitch... Especially if you don't have the right tools.

After reading this thread I thought to myself "Does my clutch pedal return far enough to engage the clutch switch?" I just went outside to check and sure enough, the clutch switch wasn't engaging at all, after a quick adjustment to the switch, I took the car for a drive and I now have cruise control again! lol
This was also my problem as I just installed a new clutch master cylinder, I thought I bumped one of the switches when messing around with the pedal but I wasn't sure.

When I checked, sure enough the switch was not contacting the clutch at all, so I'm guessing the PCM thought the clutch was pressed in the whole time and not letting the cruise work. I had to screw in the switch about 3 or 4 turns and now all is good.

I have the same problem where the cruise control just quit working. I know if the ABS Inop is on that will do it and I had the fuse out for a while but I put it back in and the ABS works fine.

The third tail light works, the clutch switch works, so I am at a loss. This happened on my 97 T/A as well but I never looked into it (as I never used the cruise control then)

I am looking forward to someone finding the answer other than the clutch switch. I will keep looking myself.

Problem solved. I forgot there are 2 switches on the clutch pedal. The black one when the pedal is depressed was working fine the white one for when the pedal is out needed 4-5 turns and bingo we have cruise control again.

I rarely use Cruise so I can only assume it went out when I put in the LS7 clutch or replaced the master cylinder.
