Default Cruise control not working HELP

Ok, I already ruled out the 3rd brake light
My car only has 30k miles
Cruise control worked fine, then it would disengage randomly, now it doesnt engage at all, period. Everything else works fine with no issues or codes

MY guess is the brake switch? Only thing i can think of, but idk which one if the brake switch please help

I'd say brake or clutch switch.

idk about the brake switch, but if it's anything like the clutch switch it sits at the base of the pedal up under the dash. You'll definitely know what it is when you see it.

No i haven't yet, and it is a real inconvenience..

Make sure to check your third brake light, the cruise control stops working if they are out.

If they are working fine, your in the same boat as me.

I been feeling around, and i just cant find the dam wire/switch for the brake switch .. it prolly jus needs me to unplug/plug back in trick.. i dont think it needs to be replaced, cuz mine would work sometimes.. then stop working.. turn off turn back on and it works fine.. now it jus stopped entirely

I'll prolly jus take it to a shop or something.. unless someone can help me

Edit: But to answer your question, if i find the source of the problem I'll definitely pass the info along

I have the same problem, but my brake switch was replaced recently and the problem still persists. Before I blindly replace the clutch switch, are there any other symptoms that would indicate that it is bad (i.e. not brake lights with bad brake switch)?

HAHA! thanks guys! I installed a tick master cylinder with a new Monster stage 3 the same time I installed my MWC 9". Well I noticed the other day my cruise control wasn't working, I checked the fuse and it was good, so I decided to just deal with it later. After reading this thread I thought to myself "Does my clutch pedal return far enough to engage the clutch switch?" I just went outside to check and sure enough, the clutch switch wasn't engaging at all, after a quick adjustment to the switch, I took the car for a drive and I now have cruise control again! lol

With a bad clutch switch you will be able to start the car without depressing the clutch pedal. I'd recommend leaving the car in neutral for this test.

Feeling around for wires won't work. You have to get your noggin up under there. The only way I've found to do this in my driveway is to recline the drivers seat and lay on it upside down. (Face under the dash and feet at the headrest.)

The switches are attached to the top of the pedal mechanism, which is all the way up under the dash, almost behind the gauge cluster. Its real easy to understand once you see it. There is one switch on the brake and one on the clutch pedal. Each has a plunger coming out of the switch that contacts the pedal. Unplug the sensor, and rotate it to adjust. It just needs to be close enough to the pedal so the casing (not the plunger) is almost touching the pedal at rest.

Sorry about not getting pics up yet. I got hung up with a PCV problem while swapping intakes and that's been what's on my mind. You will definitely have to pull those panels under your steering column to get anything done at all. And trust me, once you see it, you'll know what it is.
