engine temp question

engine temp question my gauge cluster reads the cars running about 240, in autotap it shows the engine coolant temp sensor is reading 146. its got a 160 thermostat in it and i wired the fans manually. i replaced the temp sensor in the head, thermostat, water pump and flushed the radiator. could i just have a shitty gauge?
