Spark plugs after 25,000 miles......427ci with very worn rings Just to show what oil blow-by does to plugs in a hurry.....
So its got a tad over 160,000 miles...its WAY over-due for a rebuild. But it runs so damn perfect I've just been driving and driving and driving...no issues. I just have to add a quart of oil every couple weeks. So since its got so many miles I started doing plug changes every 15,000-20,000 since its so cheap and easy to do. Oil blow-by kills the plugs. It doesn't burn a drop of coolant, so what you see is all from excessive oil blow-by from worn rings......
But...I have an easy bolt-in fix though.....bolting in a new 441ci soon....

Hotter plugs????? I just need round cylinders again 
With new pistons and rings.
Rebuild coming....I got way more than my moneys worth. This engine was built for spray, a 250 shot, and was supposed to be rebuilt after 30,000 miles. Since I never sprayed it.....I got 160,000+ miles.......and still going strong.

Electrodes looked terrible. $17.00 to put new ones in. No biggie.
When my 427ci was new I did my first plug change at about 30,000 miles, those plugs came out looking close to perfect. The next plug change about 25,000 miles later looked ok, but still not bad at all. The last few changes though....getting worse each time. These are terrible. I was getting very slight missing when I would go WOT from about a 50mph roll.....thats why I changed them. No codes though. That missing is now gone.......its smooth as glass now all the way to 150mph.
