Default Anyone else ever have a bad coolant refill cap?

About a month ago the coolant in my car kept boiling and leaking.. turned out the coolant refill cap wouldn't seal.
I replaced it, everything ran find for a month, I even did a 2000 mile road trip!!
All of a sudden, similar issue again?? WTF? Is this common or do I just have really bad luck?

It is common, especially with these aging cars, its often an overlooked replacement part. But allot of people also get bad NEW caps....just a dud.

But if the cap is good and you're still boiling over............could be a bad head gasket.
