I was driving on the highway and heard a loud pop come from under the hood. After the pop, the engine sounded horrible. Sounds like a large exhaust leak. Seems like the sound is coming from the left side of the engine. I did not see a crack in the exhaust manifold. Could it be something inside the motor? The engine is not smoking. Just sounds like a large steam engine now. Anyone have any ideas?

Does it run ok except for the noise?
Sounds like maybe it shot a spark plug out, check and see if they are all still there.
