Having a hard time getting inspected. My check engine light is on due to no cats. It used to be easy to just buy a sticker but now anywhere I go when they find out there is no cats they basically tell me to gtfo. My question is if i turn out the light and erase the codes with a hand held programmer can I make it through? If all else fails and I have to put cats on it will it noticeably hurt performance? Buying cats is the last thing I want to do there are much better things Id rather spend my money on.

Thesilverone: What your saying is a custom tune would solve the problem?
its throwing the o2 codes. Yes in nj the did away with inspection but you still need to pass emissions, but the dont use a sniffer in the exhaust, they plug into your computer and if it doesnt throw any codes you pass.
