Short curcuited?
Then i started it and gave it gas to keep it alive, drove it down the road to see if it would fix itself and it did.
When i started my car i noticed the engine light wasnt on, and its been on for a while with an 02 sensor/ catcode.
I scanned it at my old high school and it didnt even have any codes in its history.
What couldve caused this and is my car good to keep driving? It feels fine and i drove it 100 miles today to get back to VA.
EDIT""" today the engine light came back on ill check later to see if its the same codes.

Someone told me that it sounded like a short in my system but, i thought it could be the weak altenators on our cars. Buuut that wouldnt explain the codes resetting.
so any ideas?
I had to deal with my brother totaling my dads truck today. T.T i loved that truck, had the 5.3 too.
He hit a house with it.
bank one and two sensors and the cats. now i have to figure out what to do, the guy at pep boys told me just the right side cat was over 300 bucks

deleting things and cutting them off does not fix your car, unless you know how to tune and have the program i wouldn't recommend it.

First thing you need to figure out is whether it's
the cat, a bad rear O2, or just bitching about the
rear O2 being too slow for the PCM's liking.
I've heard of shorts from the battery rolling (loose)
and I've had a short from the starter hot cable to
the A/C compressor clutch (cable loose and rubbing).
A good hard short, even a quick one, will reset the
PCM and its codes.
