Short curcuited?
I started my car and it almost died, before it did i shut it off.(monday)
Then i started it and gave it gas to keep it alive, drove it down the road to see if it would fix itself and it did.
When i started my car i noticed the engine light wasnt on, and its been on for a while with an 02 sensor/ catcode.
I scanned it at my old high school and it didnt even have any codes in its history.
What couldve caused this and is my car good to keep driving? It feels fine and i drove it 100 miles today to get back to VA.
EDIT""" today the engine light came back on ill check later to see if its the same codes.

I'm not totally sure about this but if the alternator is failing then it could cause the pcm to lose power causing it to reset deleting the codes. Just like if you unplugged the battery

I'm not sure if you have to pass a sniffer for smog or if it's just a code check. If it's just a code check then you can delete them. I don't know how to delete them because I live in Cali.

deleting things and cutting them off does not fix your car, unless you know how to tune and have the program i wouldn't recommend it.

they rob about 5hp, not worth the hassle of cutting them off. if you had a scanner you could see if the o2's are cycling correctly, but it is more likely they are one of your problems. your going to have to determine which are bad or you could start with the front two.

You need to quit listening to Pep Boys mechanics.
First thing you need to figure out is whether it's
the cat, a bad rear O2, or just bitching about the
rear O2 being too slow for the PCM's liking.
I've heard of shorts from the battery rolling (loose)
and I've had a short from the starter hot cable to
the A/C compressor clutch (cable loose and rubbing).
A good hard short, even a quick one, will reset the
PCM and its codes.
