mystery coolant leak
i first noticed there was a leak when i saw a small amount of coolant on the underside of the hood, looked like it had been slung there by the belts, however they dont squeel, never. and arent sticky or slimy. then i started smelling it when i was stopped next to a wall (garage, drivethru),or big truck/trailer. eventually i started seeing a small puddle under the car after parking it for any decent amount of time after driving it. i thought maybe it was the TB coolant hoses so i did the bypass, but that didnt fix it. all this has occurred in the last couple weeks. the car is an 02 SS M6 with 66k on it

Make sure first, could be a water pump gasket.
Run the engine up to operating temp, drive it up on ramps or a lift....turn it off and with a flashlight make sure its leaking from the weep hole on the bottom snout of the water pump.
The coolant will drip right out of the hole.

mine just did that. i noticed that there was some coolant on the ac thing. i was like its too late to get one from parts store. i parked it the next day at work and BAM! coolant all over the ground. replaced it that day and now its fine. is there coolant around the back of the water pump pulley??

I say it's the shaft seal by the pulley... my car started to squeel outta no where and i drove front up on my car ramps and looked underneth and noticed slight drippage from front of the water pump... squeels here and there now and then...
