Default storage and oil change

Guys I'm going to be due for an oil change this month but I also store it this month. Would you leave the old oil in till spring and let the stuff just set in the pan or change it out with some cheap stuff just to keep the grin down in the pan. I always change it in the spring when I bring it out.

I wouldn't change it. When a car sits for a prolonged period of time, moisture developes inside the engine and contaminates the oil. Without running the engine, the moisture is not burned out of the oil. Why would you put fresh oil in it only to change it when you take it out of storage? I have stored my car many times for up to 16 months at a time.

Exactly! I know I have to change it when she comes out! Just thought it might be better to put some clean cheap **** in to sit for the winter instead of the dirty stuff.
