Default Driver power window motor slow

My drive side power window motor is slowing down. I know about the autotrix fix, but it appears to only be for the passenger side. Should I just go with a doorman? motor?

Yeah, if it's slowing down, the motor is probably about to go. There's a good How-To here: http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

Put a regulator in with the motor. OEM or Dorman is the way to go. Try and get rivets and the dealer if you can. Its just hard to get a wrench back there sometimes.

there a million and 1 threads about this. the passenger side motor is prone to dieing because it does not receive a full 12 volts like the drivers side. the autotrix kit taps into a full 12 line. replace the motor and install the kit and you should be set.

This is a total myth. If you measure both sides, you'll see they are both the same. If the sides operate differently, one motor is more dead than the other.

There is a lot of resistance in the circuit, so the autotrix kit will give a more direct path to the 14V that the alternator puts out and will help hide a gimpy motor. It "fixes" nothing. It will just make a bad motor look better.

If you replace the motors with quality ones, you'll get consistent and good performance.

What he said is true. Get yourself new Doorman replacement motor (not rebuilt). It is much better than the GM motor which was developed about the time of Custer's last stand. They are good quality and will operate much faster. I have replaced both of mine over the years and they are still going strong. Did drivers side 4 1/2 years ago and pass side a few months ago. The rivets are not nessassary. The nuts and bolts with loctite on them work just fine. Use a phillips screw driver and a 7mm wrench to tighten them. No big deal at all. It is not hard to reach any of them. It takes about 45 minutes to replace the motor. Rockauto.com is the best place to get one $24. That is half what they cost at any of the auto parts stores.

Rivets are not necessary for the regulator to motor connections.

Rivets (and a special industrial sized riveter) are necessary if you replace the regulator and have to make the regulator to door connections.
