starting issues.
1995 camaro v8. its my Daily Driver. 2 days ago it ran fine. then one day to work it just stopped. made it back home. randomly starts, but now a no go.
New ICM, New Ignition Coil, The Optiis 3 months old, New Racetronix Fuel Pump.
I also installed the Racetronix Fuel Pump Power Harness thinking that was the issue, but wasnt.
Il let the video do all the talking.

I think you have a bad thermostat............
No really..........the cutting off while driving and hard starts sounds like a failing "Crank Shaft Position" sensor. The jumpy rpm needle sounds like a short OR maybe you just have corrosion built up on a battery cable somewhere.
Also....there' have been "cracked" battery cables...they crack inside the rubber covering. Have someone grab the positive cable and move it around while you try to start it, then do it to the negative cable....see if it starts...or at least almost starts.
I don't know diddly about Opti stuff...so maybe thats it......

it also cuts off while not driving. i checked all spark plug wires. one was sort of corroted and replaced it. same result. as for the battery, i will take it out and check cables. i also noticed that while car was turned on, the fans kicked in for about 1 minute with car being cool. can the temp sensor on water pump cause the PCM think its overhearing and shutdown car. then sometimes fans kick in without car shuting down. il go ahead and replace the temp sensor on the WP and the air temp sensor thats on the block by the headers. last night i left the car on for about 25 minutes and no shut off. turned car off. waited for 3 more hrs and car stayed on while parked and never shut down. i swear this car is so random.
After i fix it. im going to sale it and get me a 2010-2012 v6 .
I cant afford a v8

i decided to change the Opti. i drive car for 1 day with no problem. next day after work it dies on me. i give it 4 turns and nothing on 6th turn it cracks right up. so i make it home.
so far ive replaced Opti and ICM. ignition coil has been tested and its good. i have never changed o2 Sensors. can they cause these issues. fuel pressure is around 42 with car in idle. can a bad idle air control valve cause these issues? im in need of help as this is my daily driver. any more suggestions?

i have the same exact problem, but mine will eventually fire up.. when it does the car runs like a champ and idles fine.
checked all the wiring here, and got the icm checked.. i dont just want to throw parts at the car- I WANT AN ACTUAL FIX.

im thinking i might have a bad fuel pressure regulator. last night i firing the car up and no go. so i plug in my fuel pressure gauge tester. i get 42 psi. so car turns over with no problem. i also noticed that i get some sort of detonation sometimes. am i running rich or what? is there such a thing where it can be getting to much fuel?
