Default ac clutch

So for the past few days I have been hearing a kinda grinding noise every 3 seconds under the hood. Noticed when ac is off the clutch tries to spin slowly when making the noise. I had replaced the clutch about 5 months ago and was told there was no air gap for this car but just to tighten it down all the way. Sooo, question is, do I need to pull the clutch out just a hair? I believe it is catching on the pulley and making that noise. Or am I just hoping its that easy and something bigger? BTW, it makes no noises when AC is on.

There has to be an air gap. That's how it disengages the clutch.
I cannot remember the exact spec. It is usually around .018-.024"

agreed! air gap is needed. IT's a delco. and I just did the delco on my suburban. 0.020 should get you close.

I'd just put a compressor on it. Replacing a clutch never works out. Sometimes you can get it but if not it can be a pain.
