Smile 97 tilt steering column question

There is a little play up and down on my tilt column when set into position. Is this somehow repairable or should I try and get a new used comumn?

Thank you in advance for your help!

its fixable. type in "tilt column" in the search bar. you'll see this very thread and there are about two more that actually detail the fix.

I've had my steering column apart. Nothing taboo about an airbag just make sure everything is disconnected power wise before going anywhere near the airbag. There is also a video on youtube for that problem.

It is for an S10 but trust me, the steering column is pretty much the same when it comes to the guts of it. Take your time and remember how everything goes back.
