Default P0108 code on 2000 trans am

Driving home the other day, my trans am started running crappy. After hooking the predator up and running DTC's, it said 02 sensor bank 1- sensor 1, 02 sensor bank 2-sensor 1. So I replaced those, started the car up, cleared the codes & drove down the street. I was shocked that replacing the 02 sensors made no difference. Came back & a new code was thrown: "P0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure High Input" My direction now, is to replace the MAP sensor tomorrow.

Idles real low, and dies. After pushing the gas, takes a few seconds to engage, just to cuts out. Can smell gas. Sounds and runs terrible. All symptoms point towards a bad 02 sensor from previous experience.

Did anyone have a similar experience?

Replaced the map sensor, the car seems a bit more responsive, but still messed up. No other codes have been thrown yet. Any ideas?

Clean your MAF and check the PCV hose behind the throttle body. I suffered similar symptoms and found a nearly disintegrated hose section on the passenger side right behind the throttle body BELOW the hose connected to the TB... just a guess, good luck!

May want to run a code check again. P0108 is a high voltage to the MAP (MAP sensor voltage greater than 4.3V). If you replaced it, the MIL should clear after 3 consecutive start cycles without failing the diagnostic check.

If you can, scan for more codes.

Check the harness leading to the MAP, if there is a short to voltage, it is going to keep the P0108 going.

I checked all the hoses, everything seemed to be in good shape. I can hear an unusual noise coming from the drivers side, however cannot locate. I cleared the codes to drive around the block, no codes were thrown yet, I must not have driven far enough.

High is disconnected connector, or faulty map. Take it for a longer drive and see what happens. Make sure u didn't pull anything while replacing the o2's

Does anyone have a picture of the connectors that each 02 sensor runs too. I doubt its to possible to plug into the wrong ones. Nothing appears out of wack to me. Would a shop computer reader be able to tell more than the predator. I'll try to drive it around town tomorrow to see what codes are thrown. Thanks for everyones help!!

try and unplug the O2 sensor connectors and let it idle. if it idles fine, then you need to replace the O2s, if you have already replaced them, then start looking for all closed loop sensors, since you replaced your map, go ahead and check your maf and temp. sensor. just let it idle without O2s first and see how it goes..good luck! and let us know what happens.

I did just replace the 02s when the codes were thrown. I'm starting to wonder if I was giving the wrong ones. I will keep searching for anwsers tomorrow and update as I go.

I have been trying to narrow down the problem, took apart the air intake to the throttle body, to see if anything was clogged. unplugged each 02 sensor 1 at a time to see if anything was different. All visible connections appear to be correct. I can feel the connection going to the map sensor. Tried to look from under the car to follow the connections, could not find anything visible. & After driving around town a bit, it did throw the p0108 code again. Its time to call a shop, I will update what the problem was. (

Sorry to revive an old thread. Hoping this helps someone else since this is the first google result. Mine turned out to be a bad MAF sensor that got wet.
