Default Rotten Egg smell after hard acceleration

Need some help here, I noticed this strong rotten smell today after accelerating kind of hard to merge out onto the highway, I held it at maybe half throttle for 5-6 seconds, once I let off, this strong rotten stench engulfed the car. Any ideas on what this could be? The car is all stock minus an O/R Y so it couldn't be the cats, any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I put a lot of time into cleaning the engine bay/waxing yesterday and I didn't find any dead animals, haha. That was definitely a good thought though.

I honestly can't think of anything else that it might be. Today wasn't the first day I've smelt these fumes either, it's expelled this stench with cats and without since I've had the car, it happens only at certain times under heavy acceleration though, very strange.

If you're smelling it in the cabin under hard acceleration then the sulfur smell must be coming from somewhere in the engine bay.

Battery? Strange.

Thanks for the link, very interesting. The battery could definitely be a possibility since I haven't changed it, I've had it since April and the car was just sitting around not being driven before I bought it. I think I will definitely replace the battery and see what that does. Thanks again!

Yup, no leaks at all. Not going to be front end fluid either man, it's not a 4x4.

if you have no cats, then I agree with battery. Had a truck at work the other day that stunk terribly like rotten eggs. A few days earlier we had replaced the alternator cause it wigged out and started putting out 20+ volts. Guess it started the batteries cooking cause one of the batteries started swelling up and pushing out acid. I measured the temp with a non-contact thermometer at it was at 180 degrees!

Yeah, like I said, yesterday I took a lot of time to clean this car up, didn't find anything dead or out of place. I'm definitely thinking it's the battery. Thanks for your help though man.

Yup, I'm going to go out tomorrow when I get out of class and pickup a new battery, this is for sure going to the first step I take towards fixing this problem. Thanks for the input.
