Default Fog light bulb 899

One of my fog light bulbs burnt out the other night. I work at a Hyundai dealership, and the same people own a shop next to us that's a Nissan dealership. We didn't carry anything like the 880 that came out of the fog light, but Nissan carries a 899 that fit. Curious if this will melt my fog light housing or if anyone has successfully used an 899 instead of an 880. Thanks.

Are they rated the same wattage? I recently purchased some 37.5 watt blubs (893) to replace the standard 27 watt bulbs (880).

I believe they are 37.5 watt also. I had my parts guy order me one from pep boys, and just replaced it again, and threw the 899 in my toolbox. Won't be able to check until Monday since I'm done for the week.

I haven't installed my new bulbs yet, but I am curious how noticeable the difference is. One of my old bulbs went out so I would like to install the new one to compare it to the old one, before I install both new bulbs.

I wouldn't mess around with different bulbs on this car. If it calls for an 880, use an 880. It's not worth burning anything up or frying some wires or popping some fuses.
