Brand new parts break quickly and sometimes come broken. Put the new pump and you'll be good to go.

Did the OP fix the issue? Was it as stuck t-stat or stripped splines?

Yes I did fix it, it was the fact that the impeller was not attached to the shaft, on a brand new water pump. Nothing wrong with the t-state, or water-pump drive coupler. I welded the impeller to the shaft, took it for a drive, and never got above 180, cars runs cool and fast!
