Default alternator bad?

so i was just driving into richlands to get some gas and everything was good. when i started the car at the gas station i noticed it seemed to struggle a little, by the time i got almost back to my house my check gauges light came on an i noticed my volt meter was WAY down. as i got on the last straight to my house my radio started flickering and lights were dimming like the battery was draining. i made it to the house and checked the battery terminals and everything was tight and i didnt slip a belt off or anything. now the car is dead and wont start. it almost has to be the alternator unless you guys know anything i can try.

ok, so i charged it for a bit and checked the voltage at the battery and it was rite at 12v as soon as i took the neg terminal off to isolate the alternator the car died so i cant check the voltage there. so it has to be the alt, iv taken the battery out of the car before and it still ran.

Yep...same thing happened to me last week. I JUST rolled into the driveway. Had to charge the battery to get it in the garage. That thing is in a PITA location but not to tough. My starter went a week later
