I dont know whats wrong, but for some reason, when I open the drivers side door, with the key out of the ignition, nothing turns off. Where is the switch for the door, and anyone have some suggestions for what would cause this? I bought the car this way, and have just gotten used to it, but now I want it fized..

BTW, its an 01 WS6, A4

more then likley the driver door switch/latch is bad.

ive seen this problem alot actually on various vehicles and the door latch was the problem.

Its connected to the latch at the back of the door. I'd put the key in the ignition and open the door. If you don't get the "chime" from that, it would also indicate a bad switch in the door.

I dont believe there is a chime at all.. Do you guys know if the switch itself can be replaced, or if its part of the latch assembly, and all of it has to be replaced?
