Default problems across the pond

our friend has a 2000 z28 camaro which has just thrown the serpentine belt off, the belt was put on about a year ago does anyone know why this may have happened, also we have new 99 firehawk which is running fine apart from it is making a chirping noise which would you try first the belt tensioner pulley or the alternator bearings.

for the camaro, something probably just came loose, shouldnt be a big deal, just slap it back on (assuming the belt isnt damaged), and make sure its fitted right and everythings tight

for the ta, you should check both, and also check the belt, those things start to squeek if theyre old

For some reason TA tend to chirp like that. Mine does it from time to time. Could be a pulley, belt, or I once heard somebody mention something about a alternator bracket recall that causes this? So good luck with the chirp.

I had those actually happened to me. Chirpping and throwing off the main belt. I have replaced the belt and both tensioner pullies. (a/c and the main one). No problems since then.

Many in the past used these to keep the belt from coming off;
