Yet another VATS problem.....
Im about to shove a rag in the gas tank of this car and blow the SOB up.
Last year I had an issue with a gremlin in the VATS system which caused a MAJOR inconvenience at the worst times possible. And when wasnt starting there was no signs of anything "wrong". The accessories would all come on. The transmission would unlock. The fuel pump would turn on. But still, no start. So far I have...
1. Replaced Battery
2. Replaced Alternator
3. Bypassed VATS w/ Resistor
4. Replaced BCM and PCM
5. Replaced Starter
Since replacing the starter I have had 0 issues with it for about a year. Last week it started doing it again, however this time, the security light and "service engine soon" light come on solid and stay on. Its been intermittent until tonight. All day today, no start. I took apart my VATS bypass out to check the wires and found one of the connections to be a bit loose. So I rebuilt the bypass harness and reinstalled. Tried to start the car, no change. Ive taken the starter, alternator, and battery out and had them all tested. They all show good. Im completely stumped as to where to go next, anyone have any suggestions?

The vats by pass is sent a 5 volt reference one one wire.
The other wire is back to the BCM a lower voltage depending on needed resistors.
Check those 2 white wires @ the main underdash connector. 1 is 5v other something over 1 volt. that can confirm you have continuity thru the by pass & the voltage is getting thru.
Thats a start.

Nothing at all, the accessories come on, trans unlocks, fuel pump turns on, then nothing. It started last night and this morning so perhaps my VATS bypass wire was the problem. We'll see how long it lasts this time.

If it does it again id check the ignition switch to make sure its not going out. To clarify I mean the electrical switch on top of the column under the dash not the lock cylinder

Yeah I think my next trick is going to be going ahead and replacing the ignition switch assembly. At which time i'll probably remove the VATS bypass.
