i know that the 98 had a 186 thermo, but not sure has for the 2000....the only difference is that the 2000 has the slp flowpac kit......is that whats making it hotter? is there any benefits from a car running at 186 over 210?

I just tell people as long as oil pressure isn't pegged either way then your ok. V8s minimum oil pressure spec when hot is 6 psi, so it can get pretty low. Amps is usually pretty accurate. A lotta GM cars fuel guage is just a reference, but my 02 and the wifes 99 are pretty accurate. But we make a habit of running almost empty and filling up again. Not too many partial fillups so the guage always does a full sweep and doesnt sit in one spot too long....
