Default Turn signal issues. HELP!!

I have quite a few problems with the front turn signals on my 02 ta.

1- My pass side turn signal stays on when no lights are on. It works fine when the headlights are on and blinks when I use it
2- my drivers side turn signal marker light comes on with the headlights but won't blink at all regardless of whether the headlights are on or not

Anyone have a clue what could be wrong???

That happened to me, what i did to fix it was replace the actual socket that the bulb goes into, they're pretty cheap at autoparts stores. It should be a simple and cheap fix, hope this helped!

What he said dont remember the part number but autozone had it. Take out your socket and go look at autozone youll find it there. I also use electrical grease helps it no erode and better connection.

And as far as your passenger side that actually sounds to me like what it's supposed to be doing for your DRL's?

So which socket is bad? The drivers side?

So the marker lights are supposed to be on for 'driving lights'? That's great if the passenger side seems to be acting correctly but I guess my next step after I fix this will be to find out how to disable the driving lights

Autozone DRL socket part #85881...$8 and get some new $5 3157 bulbs and a little $1.50 packet of grease to help reduce corrosion...hopefully, problem solved!

Well, I sure hope that fixes it! Do I have to cut off the old connector? It looks that way from the picture. The other interesting thing is that the autozone website says this doesn't fit my 02 TA. Is this connector going to be different than my stock one??

I've recently changed both of my sockets on my TA from which I bought at Autozone. The socket part #85881 is what you need.
All you do is undo your socket from your housing. Cut all 3 wires about 1 inch from the housing. The existing wires coming from your car are color coordinated, but your new 85881 socket has all three wires the same grey color. These colors are going to help you line up this new 85881 socket bc above each wire they are also given a letter (I believe they use A,B,G) Now all you do is line up the right grey wire from your new 85881 socket with the existing colored wires out of you car by referecing back to your old socket you cut out to see what colored wire connects with what lettered wire.
Your old socket, most likely being corroded, was hindering your electric flow causing your bulbs to act erratically. Try this out, if this doesn't fix the problem then you may need some load resistors. Good luck!

I took the socket and bulb out tonight and found the socket is all corroded and the one tab is burnt/broken off. I'll hopefully pick up a socket tomorrow.

So since my car has daytime running lights, the marker lights (turn signals) are supposed to stay on?

When car is on turn signals stay on all the time. Only blink with hazards or blinker.

DRLs and auto headlights are two totally separate functions. DRL (Daytime Running Lamp) are the orange blinkers that are on whenever the car is on. Auto headlight "feature" for Camaros is the sensor that automatically turns on your headlights once it gets "dark".
Search "DRL delete" and I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.

Why do you wanna defeat them?! lol IMO they look cool especially when you get the silverstar blinker bulbs, makes the car very noticeable, just my two cents.

But i think to take out the drl function just dont hook up one of the three wires to the socket, i think that should work.

...to each his own. Personally, I agree and like the DRLs. I just ordered new glass blinker lenses from Amazon that look 100x's better than these OEM lenses. Next week I'm getting those platinum orange 7w 20 LED bulbs from VLEDS...it looks so good. If only more people could see it in real life rather than pics...

Before you go and change the socket, you should properly test for what is going on. (I think you have more than one problem here.)

What happens when you turn on your parking lights? What happens when you turn on your hazards. Do both sides flash in all four corners of the car? What happens to the rear bulbs when you turn on the turn signals? (left and right)

The second problem is indeed probably a socket. When you change it, here's a method to avoid doing a splice - which could lead to other problems down the road: (The wires are in a wet location and doing a water tight splice is not a fun thing.)
- Take note of the order of the colored wires going in to the old socket.
- The socket has a body and an insert in the middle. The insert holds the bulb. Take a screw driver and pop out the insert in the old socket. The body will probably break apart - that's OK. When you do that, the wires will pull right out of the body. They will have connectors on the end, which receive the insert and they will probably be in good condition.
- Carefully remove the insert from the new socket. (You don't want to tear the new one apart!) You should be able to re-assemble the new body and insert on to the existing wires.
