Default need quick AN fitting and hose tutorial

I have some leaking oil cooler lines on my truck, I want to redo them with AN fittings and stainless hose or hard tubing. I hope to use either -10 or -12 AN adapters to 1/2 NPT, the threads in the block are 1/2-14 NPT and it's a vortec 8100. So the fittings in the block are easy and I found those adapters already at summit.
I've never messed with making my own hoses. How do the hose ends work, do i need to buy special tools to get a hose end on?
I'd like to make 2 setups.
One is the oil cooler delete setup where I just have a 6" of hose that does a U between the oil cooler ports on the block.
the other would be a replacement for the stock oil cooler lines which are leaking on me now at the factory crimps, and would also like to put a T block in where I can mount a 1/8 npt sender and use my oil temp gauge.
