Default Identify this noise

I made it more of a challenge since I filmed it with my phone... Good luck.

Does not do it at start up, and does not do it everytime the car is stopped.

Did you take my car? Mine sounds almost the same exact way right now. Only difference is I have LS1. There is a previous post and the thread started almost the same way.

Search under Gen III for 'is this a lifter(video)' thread

Yeah, I think all of our cars are self destructing at the same time...

Exhaust shop laughed at me today and said I need a mechanic and a lot of money (and that its not an exhaust issue).

I'm going to recheck the plugs soon since this noise started after a plug and wire change (within like 20 miles).

I've seen LS1s spit out plugs...

Whats funny is that there was one plug that took nothing to tighten it, and I just felt like there was something wrong with that... I'll find out tonight if plugs are involved.

Unfortunately no. I never bothered to check the drive side. Pulled the valve cover off again today, and this time was able to run it... theres no issues on top. When the sound started while I had a cover off I took the scope out again to see if I could figure out where things were the loudest now... its crazy loud at the oil pan. So, I guess its time to pull the motor after all.

Well that's not good, i'm going to be doing a similar thing soon so I can have my car back together for some summer fun. I'm going to purchase a used short block and rebuild it throw that in and rebuild mine.

Every bearing on the crank was toast. Glad I stopped driving it when I did.
