that looks good if you're ok with what comes in the set.
I bought a craftsman something-piece set 15 years ago that i still have and happy with. For a socket set i think craftsman is still ok, but some of their other tools are real crap these days. I would definitely look at kobalt at lowes especially for the price and if any honor a broken tool like sears does.

only thing i wish my set had was a full 12 point and a full 6 point in both short sockets and deep sockets, but that's probably asking a lot.

That looks like a great for a starter set I saw a comparison in prices between craftsman, kolbalt and huskey the other day and craftsman prices were the cheapest. I work on cars for a living, and in my opinion I would go for craftsman because of the prices. I can't really justify spending more money on a certain brand. If something breaks all of the companies allow you to get a replacement, so why pay more initially for the same tool.

sears actually has a coupon code that drops price to 185

can someone comment on if going with the kobalt brand would be worth it.

is the quality or warranty better or worse?

thanks
