Default Steering Column / Ignition question?

Ok.. I'm new here, so be patient...

I have a 2001 Camaro that has a broken steering column ( physically cracked at the tilt mechanism/broken components...)
To make matters worse, I lost the keys in a big clean up event a few weeks ago ( trash now...) so the car is sitting in the driveway

I have a replacement column available in a few days with key, for $50.00 complete with steering wheel and SIR bag.

If I replace the coulmn, it will fit directly, as it is from a 2001 also.

However, I get conflicting data as to whether or not the car will even start when I am done..?

If not..

A. Tow to dealer..cost $ 75.00 PLUS $ 40.00 to "sync" the new column?

B. ... really? is there ANYTHING I can do that will get the car started and alarm disabled?

Please advise, as I try to do all of my work myself when I can...

Default

As long as the key that comes with it has the right OHM resistor in it for that new ignition......it should work.

And whats up with the headlight picture?
