Default Cooling Problems

I have a 99 corvette and like a lot on here have been having overheating problems . The temp is going past 220 while I'm driving mostly in the city. I have put a new thermostat, the rad fan relays, temp switch and coolant. My dash says low coolant but it's filled all the way up, will a bad coolant level sensor cause the fans to come on at different temps ? It seems like only the driver side radiator fan comes on when I turn the AC on, are both supposed to be on? I thought both are supposed to be on at all times. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

don't have a Vette but most cars both fans will run with the A/C on because of the extra stress on the motor. Replace that bad sensor for coolant level, hell who knows what that is connected to. lol

Where are you checking the coolant level? In your overflow tank or in the radiator neck? It is possible to have low fluid in the radiator but not in the overflow bottle if the water pump is going bad and injecting air in to the system...

If the radiator has fluid in it, I'd look at the radiator next. Make sure there aren't any leaves, dead animals, or other things in there impeding airflow.

In the past 6 weeks I've been driving my friends 2002 Vette while my car is down for a new engine. It runs 220-230 in city driving. Its normal for Vettes to run hotter than F-Bodies.

Also, my girlfriend has a 2011 Grand Sport Vette I've also been driving a lot in the past 4-6 weeks.......it runs the same temps as my friends Vette in city driving on hot weather. On the highway it will drop to about 200-210 and stay there.
