Default How long to install cam sensor/r&r intake??

Unfortunately, I am getting a recurring p0343/ cam sensor ses light & I need to have the labor professionally done b/c I know it is beyond me. How long should it take for a professional shop to swap the sensor including r&ring the intake. Is just the wiring accessible that he can check it w/o dealing with the intake? If I do have to remove the intake do I replace the sensor no matter what (even if the plug is found loose) to avoid doing this twice? Can anyone chime in with any tips? Thanks.

If you're gonna let someone else do it....make it clear to them, even start the engine and show them, that before the job is started your oil pressure works. Ask them if they are aware of the OPSU position and how easy it is to break.....

Many times shops will break the Oil Pressure Sending Unit (OPSU) either pulling the intake off or putting it back on.

If you have no oil pressure when you get it back.....its broke. Intake will have to come back off to replace it.

Best to find someone who has R&Red the LSx intake....couple little tricks in doing the job a lot of people don't know that makes it literally EASY as PIE to do.

Thanks for that great tip. The hardest part is finding someone who has swapped the intake. My guy is good but I don't know if he ever did this job. Most people here drive fart cans. Lol. Do I need a certain brand or it doesn't matter? Glad I am not doing it. Lol.

pretty much any brand will work just get whatever the parts store has on hand. i've removed the intake on a few different cars probably 10 times total and I've only broken 1 sensor. I have it down to r&r the intake in about 30-40 mins lol this is with headers and the AIR system deleted though. first time i would estimate 2 hours
