Exclamation Temperature issues...

Hey guys noob here. first post. if i spell anything wrong my bad old computer.

ok heres my problem. i cant get my car to build any temp. if it sits in one spot and idles for around 30 minutes it gets to operating temp but as soon as i take off it drops to like 170. just replaced the thermostat and i dont know what else to check. im trying to get my heater to work since its getting cold now. if the car is at operating temp the heater works fine, blows good.

also, just replaced my trans bushing, (just got the car it was shot) and now i have a vibration coming from the rear. driveshaft out of balance maybe?

car is a 98 Z28 with the LS.

please dont flame. constructive criticizim is always fine. just dont hate.

What temp T-stat did you put in there?

Check the "U" joints on your drive shaft for play, might be your vibration.

Driveshaft could be the main problem here.

Man, people would kill to have their temps drop down once they start driving.....LOL

You could simply have a bad temp sensor. Temps can't drop instantly, they take a little time, maybe a minute or so from 220 to 170. Now, if the t-stat is sticking partially open allowing the engine to heat up....then you increase rpm to drive it somehow helps it to open fully....well then that can be a fast blast of cool coolant....that would drop the temps fast.
