Unhappy Rear end howl?

Lately I've had this rear end howling. It only happens when I take my foot off the gas above 30mph. so If I'm going like 60mph for example and I take my foot of the gas it makes this awful howling. It is a stock 1998 Z28 4L60E. If i shift down it makes it worse. Is it a bad bearing or maybe needs a fluid flush? Idk please help thank you

I'd start by draining the fluid and checking for metal chunks on the magnet on the cover. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a bad pinion bearing.

All right thank you. How was a new pinion bearing?

If you can jack the car up and put it on jack stands so its safe and secure. Have someone get in and run it through the gears till the noise is present. Get under the car with a stethoscope and listen to the bearings, axle, carrier and both pinon bearings. If its most noticible on decel it is probably the pinon bearing or bearings as mjs said.
