Default Been in storage 4 years

Well like the title says. My 98 TransAm has been in storage almost 4 years and I am finally going back home and getting it out for the summer. It has been hooked up to a battery tender and has been started a couple times a month. I am planning on doing an oil change and running out a the old fuel. What else should I do to make sure it's running at top shape. I was going to do the coolant too. Not sure what else and just wanted to get some input. Thanks

As long as the car hasn't been left for dead over the last 4 years and started regulary you are pretty much good to go. Change the engine oil / disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail power up the pump and drain the tank and put a fresh fuel filter on it and fill it up with 93. If you are going to drive the car 4 brand new tires are mandatory. Then go enjoy it

Thanks for what you do for us.

Tires are not mandatory if there isn't anything wrong with them (flat spots, dry rot, ect.).

I'd change the oil and drive it unless other issues have arose.

To be on he safe side I would pull the spark plugs and put an ounce of marvel mystery oil in each cylinder and let it sit over night.

After that pull the injector fuse and turn the engine over with the spark plugs out several times to help build oil pressure. Doing it with the plugs out will 1. blow any mystery oil out of the cylinders and 2. help the engine spin over faster with no load on it to build oil pressure faster.

Put the plugs back in and fuse then start it.

There was someone else on here that posted a similar thread. I will try to find it.

Do what you will but my life is worth more to me than a set of tires that has been set up and not used.

Thanks for the info guys. I have some new wheels that I'm going to put some new rubber on so I will be good in the tire department.
