Default Alternator

Can the alternator on my 99 LS1 be disassembled so I can paint the housing? Thanks

The leads from the stator seem to be soldered to the rectifier.

Cuz I have seen people actually paint the alternator housings. I currently dont have my car soo I cant take a look at a LS1 alternator. Mind posting up some pics?

I talked to a local rebuilder today and he said if you don't have the right equipment leave it alone.
