Default General Maintenance upgrades?

What kind of upgrades over stock do you all recommend that would improve the reliability and efficiency of the ls1? Not really looking for performance gains, rather looking for more reliability for mods in the future. I'm thinking along the lines of better spark plugs, MSD wires, etc.

I'm about to do poly mounts to stop my headers and ORY from rattling (yes I'm stupid and didn't do them while installing the headers).

What else?

You pretty much just said it. (Not being rude) Spark plugs, MSD wires, clean air filter (lol) Maybe some synthetic oil

I can't think of anything that would pay for itself. The car was pretty good from the factory and all of the hard goods usually lasted 100K+ miles and won't cause any other damage if they fail.

I'd say you'd get the most out of doing regular maintenance on time and if it hasn't been done already - flush and replace all the fluids.

Besides the obvious spark plugs and usual stuff heres some things that we all do but will cost some $.

If SS/WS6 delete power steering cooler and replace with small trans cooler.

If an auto get a external trans cooler with the stock cooler out of the loop.

If an auto get a truck tranny pan.

Get a lt1 radiator if you wanted better cooling.

There's probably other things I'm forgetting and maybe these are not the kind of things you had in mind but I'm just throwing it out there for you.

This EXCEPT I'd probably just skip the aftermarket cooler until it was determined you need it (basing it on your driving, that is). I wish I would have skipped it, but there is "that" thread where everyone was jumping on the bandwagon (myself included!).

As has been mentioned, you'll want to do plugs & wires. Don't forget the fuel filter and a cooling system flush (get rid of the old DEXCOOL -- especially if your PS "cooler" is leaking!).

You dont NEED to run a PS cooler...My car has 230k on the original pump and its fine, just flush the pump and put all new fluid in it.

That's exactly what I had in mind. Thank you.
