Default 98 trana am door handle

Hello, I have a 98 trans am. The door handle on my driver side is loose and wont open the door, I can only open it from the inside by getting in by the passenger side. What should I do? Thanks and happy thanksgiving

You probably broke the little plastic clip for the exterior door handle rod. Take off your door panel and look around, chances are one of the clips broke and the rod is just hanging loose. I had the same thing happen to me a long time ago. Parts stores carry the clips you need, I think I got mine from NAPA.

But yea, take the door panel out and look at the linkage.

2 a**holes at work did that to me when I had m 94 TA years ago, parked me in on BOTH sides, thought it would be funny to see me not be able to get into my car, should have seen the look on their faces when they saw me driving down the road flipping them off. Next day, they both we're like "how the f*** did you do that" I looked at them and said "simple, I got in thru the hatch" LMAO then I told them both, don't be too surprised if one day I return the favor.

That or worse you might have had the actuator crack in half and the plastic clip is broke :/

I had the same issue with the little plastic clip that holds the actuator rod into the exterios handle. You can get a variety pack of them at an auto parts store for a few bucks.

what everyone else said. theres a little clip that gets brittle and breaks. It happened to me also. remove door panel and see how it works and fix it. not to hard. just really cramped
