Pepboys has an expandable pug that I can probably insert but I figured that it would cause the plastic to crack after awhile

Sounds like you are talking about the hole for the sensor, some people buy an old sensor to plug it with. I got lucky when I bought mine from pepboy because it had a plug on it already.

Yeah I figured that out just after I ground down the edges of it......I found a cap that fit inside the hole so I put some jb weld on in and stuffed it in. I'm going to let it cure overnight....fingers crossed that it won't leak

Ok so I topped off the cooling system no leaks so far. but my temp was hard on the 210 mark, it has been awhile but I though it was supposed to operate right before the 210. I saw both fans kick in when I turned the A/C but I did not see either one kick on when it was just running. Is that normal

Mine is usually just a hair under 210°. You may still have some air pockets in the system causing temps to show a bit higher than usual.

With stock fan settings (not sure if yours are stock or not) and the A/C off, you shouldn't have any fan engagement until 227°F (low speed) or 235°F (high speed). You'll need a scanner to verify exact coolant temp.

Mine had a plug already in the LT1 sensor port (Vista-Pro).

I used a 5/8" vacuum cap/plug on the lower driver's side extra opening and retained it with a spring type hose clamp (these hold tighter than worm hose clamps in the changing temp environments in which I live ).

I replace this every year just to be sure their are no leaks due to it deteriorating/cracking.

Mine is a stock setup. So maybe it was just because I was just idling in the garage.

Is there a way to have them kick in sooner other than having my edu reprogrammed or the SLP fan switch

Buy a used/discontinued Diablo Sport Predator hand held on ebay/where ever for cheap, then you can change them to whatever you want, anytime you want, for whatever season/ambient temps you will be facing.

No. Tuning changes (either custom or hand held) or a manual switch would be the only options.
