walker 35648 exhaust mount

walker 35648 exhaust mount
I used this thread for reference https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...tle-fix-2.html *
I have seen many posts asking about the rear passenger exhaust mount, insulator, hanger for the ls1. I know the gm replacement is discontinued and is very hard to find.
Others have mentioned the walker 35648 part, but there haven't been pictures comparing it to the gm part. The walker piece is listed for lt1's and I have an ls1 t/a.
The angle seems about the same, but the construction is different. The height also seems about the same. The metal arm of the exhaust fits very snug in the rubber bushing.
I didn't like that the sides where the rivets are located are sharp, and that the bracket sat close to the fuel tank. I rounded the edges with a cutting wheel and also cut off the excess bracket near the rivets.
UPDATE: I had to add washers, four to each bolt, to push the bracket away from the frame as mentioned in the thread above. * I could have also bent the arm that inserts to the rubber bushing to achieve the same effect, but didn't. I think adding washers will depend on how close your exhaust tips are to your bumper; mine are about 1/4".
I hope this is useful for others curious about the walker mount for ls1 t/a's.

I stocked up on a few of these before they were discontinued by GM. It's too bad to see that the aftermarket version has some fitment issues. I also don't like the metal lip that folds over the face of the insulator, as this could introduce a rattle or squeak if a given exhaust hanger happens to tuck in too closely (I have seen some catbacks do that before.)

Bringing up an old thread, but I'm looking to get the walker 35648 hanger. It looks to me like the rubber hole where the mount inserts, is a bit smaller. Any fitment issues with that? I have a SLP LMII catback that I plan on using this for.
