Yes, but you should check your exciter wire first - especially since you extended it.

On an older car i had, the auto parts store tested the alternator and it read good, but car was turning off. Finally had them check it while the car was running, all was good again. Again i had them retest it but this time with the headlights on, and bingo, alternator showed it wasnt charging enough when headlights were on.

What type of butt connectors did you use at the extension?

if you used the pull apart ones thats bad and mess's with connectivity.....use the more permanent ones either blue or red thats crimpable on either side

A lot of people also disassemble the connector and put the wire in the wrong slot when putting it back together.

The heat shrink versions are also a good idea.

I think not sure this might be on all 2000 and newer TA but if you access the bundle and follow the pigtail wire the wire will be covered by heat shrink cut into it and use the red butt connector after that solder point ....the wire they used for the agitator just seems .......brittile only like 5 or 6 strands in it :/

This may be just on my car too from previous owner breaking off pig tail during removal
