Motor mounts Solids or prothane suggestions needed
What are your thoughts? Solid motor mounts or the prothane?
Which solids are you guys running? I've heard the Spohn sit the engine up higher. I saw some billet mounts that look like the stock clamshells but are solid mounts. The engine looks good and the mounts need to look just as good.
I really want to run solids but have heard good things about the prothanes.
I just finished the engine build and this weekend I'm putting the motor and tranny back in.

I am running the Spohn solid mounts. They do raise the engine a bit. One thing it did help with was my DS long tube was contacting the sub-frame. Now no contact anywhere & headers are tucked up nice. I will also put in they gave me 10+lb/ft of tq. through the entire rpm range to the wheels. I myself am happy with them, but they are def. not for everyone.

I don't have a header clearance issue but I know plenty that did. I'm not worried about vibration, I do however want less movement in my engine mounts. I already have the prothane tranny mount and love it. It is still a daily driver but it's getting to be more race car and less of a street car each month.

I think the vibration factor is why people usually don't go with the solids. If she's turning more into a race car, I don't see why not to go with them, you will get the most power to the ground with your setup. Good luck man!

I used Prothane mounts when I swapped motors. I like them, and feels real smooth. Definitely dampens the lope of the cam. I used to have issues with my ORY hitting the bottom of my car, and that does not happen anymore. Then again I wanted mine to be a cruiser, and I hit the track here and there. I was more worried about comfort. Good luck.

Hello,
Our solid mounts, part #2323 replace the entire rubber assembly on the engine. They are direct bolt in and do not move the engine, they are built off of factory dimensions. They are also 3lbs lighter than stock rubber mounts per kit.
As for drive-ability. You will feel the solid mounts at idle while the car is sitting, while cruising you can't really tell too much of a difference.
If I can help anymore please ask.
Thank you,
Ryan

I like that it doesn't change the engine height too and they're lighter. Thanks Ryan. Can't wait to get them.
