Question regarding speedometer being off
Question regarding speedometer being off Just bought a 98 Z28 A4 last week and already knew that the speedometer was off, but not by how much. At lower speeds its off my 10mph (up to 50mph). Once I get to highway speeds, its off by 20mph (reads 95 when I'm going 76). I verified this with GPS and also followed a friend in his car.
I have done some searching and people who have this issue might have had gears done and/or gauge face plate swap. I have confirmed that I have stock gauges and gears. Car only came with a lid and catback. Could I have an issue with the speed sensor? Any other ideas? Commons issues? Thanks.

To be off by that much... wheel/tire combo isn't your issue unless you are running a 14" rim which I doubt.
More than likely the happened was that car orginally came with a 2:73 rear from the factory, it went south b/c our 10 bolts are trash, and was then replaced with either a 3:23 or 3:42 from another Fbody.
