Default New Radiator

Power steering cooler went out a while back and mucked up the stock radiator. So I decided to replace it with one from Pepboys. The new radiator is almost twice the size in the cooling fin area! Cost me 85 bucks! Temps don't budge above 198 even in heavy traffic now.

Funny thing about the coolant it didn't look oily at all but if you looked inside the rad was covered with blk oily crap.

Sounds like they might had given you a LT1 radiator. They fit the same in a LS1 car but have a thicker core making them a cheap easy upgrade for a LS1 f body.

What year is your car? LT1 and early LS had a coolant level sensor that late LS cars wont use. Here's mine, ebay is now flooded with them.

Printed right on the front, ZAP racing. Running about $150 or so from several different vendors.

The zap racing radiators aren't on ebay for 98-02 cars anymore I tried to get one awhile back ended up with an advanced one instead. Didn't really trust the other ebay ones.

If you look carefully, there is only about 2 versions of cheap aluminum radiators listed for fbodies. Then, those one or two are sold by about 20 vendors. If you pay attention to the design of the radiator, you will see they are all identical, meaning made by the same manufacturing place. They have started making them for trucks and other applications as well, and checking there they have good feedback also. I usually don't push cheap versions of products but compared to the cost of say a Griffen or something, these are good deals!

I take for granted that these HAVE TO BE made in China for that price, correct??

(But yes, IF they are reliable and get good reviews that may be OK from a quality/value standpoint, if not from a trade/country of origin one. )
