drivers mirror inner plastic cracked
My drivers side mirror inner plastic cracked, the top bolt that holds up the mirror is not doing anything at the moment, so it's hanging down almost an inch.
I removed the 3 bolts securing the mirror and used some epoxy to glue the thin cracked pieces back together and let it sit for awhile.
2 days later, it recracked and is hanging lower again.
I can try gorrila glue, that stuff has always been strong, but I don't know if the thing plastic can hold it.
Aby ideas? I can't see any kind of a brace wprkong since the plastic is so hard and thin. I don't want to replace the entire mirror because the color match won't be 100% the same.
Anyone sell just the inner guts of the mirror, is this something people part out?

I assume this is your problem: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...e-mirrors.html
^ This is the best thread on the malady.
The part isn't plastic. It's some sort of chap pot metal. It is a common problem and the funny thing is that it seems to only hit people on the driver's side.
If you get a good mirror from a junk yard or a used parts dealer, you can remove the mount (it's attached to the mirror by three screws) and just put it on your existing mirror so you don't have to worry about paint.
