Ignition problem or battery?

Alright heres the deal. I go to start my car and it starts then dies...go for it again and it starts and dies...i mean it doesn't even idle..the rpm's go up and then right down. Now i go to start it again and it's fine...it drives fine and everything no problem. It starts up fine about 8 out of 10 times. Any input is appreciated...thanx

Thats a hard one, I would check your coil wires, Every wire going to the coil and the one going to the opti.

try priming fuel pump twice or three times every time you start it (key on key off on key of start) see if it starts 10 out of 10 I had this problem a few years back drove me insane come to find out it was the hose between pump and hard line i dont know if it was not keeping prime or what. try it if it starts every time put a fuel pressure gauge and see what your pressur looks like
